  1. Department Code keeps clearing itself under printing preferences

How do I get the department code to stay in the Others tab, in printing preferences. I have entered it, hit apply and ok. Less than 30 minutes later user will attempt to print and the department code field is blank. I have tried restarting, so far I have seen the isues on 5 seperate machines, all running windows 10. I am accessing preferences by going to settings/devices/printers

    :)

  2. Change Preferences in Print

How do I change Print Preferences? Sending a document to print, there is no option to choose
color print. I need to be able to choose if I want just black or color.

The printer is not the problem because:

    • The HP Printer will print color if I'm sending from a website or a screen shot.
    • When choosing to copy from the printer's screen, I can choose color.

    Printing of E-mails from Outlook

    Hi,

Thank you for reply and update.

I apologize for the delayed response.

    1. Do you get any error message?

    2. Are you able to print from other websites?
    3. Did you try printing

If you are using Internet Explorer suggest you to follow the steps below and check

Try printing after disabling Protected Mode.

Try printing a webpage after disabling Protected Mode, to do this, follow these steps:
    • Click the Tools icon in Internet Explorer
    • Click the Security tab and uncheck the checkbox beside Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer)
    • Click Apply, and then click OK.
    • Close all open Internet Explorer windows, and then restart Internet Explorer.
    • Browse to a website and try test printing a page while running as the Administrator.
If issue persist Reset Internet Explorer and check.

Disclaimer: Please note that resetting Internet Explorer Settings will reset all user-defined settings including those set by installed extensions, toolbars and other add-ons to IE Defaults. This includes all Security, Privacy and
Zone settings. Also this will clear browsing history, delete all temporary Internet Files, cookies, form data and especially all stored passwords.

If Using Edge clear cache and check.

I suggest you to clear all browsing data and cache files from the Microsoft Edge browser and check if it helps. I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

    • First of all launch Microsoft Edge Browser.
    • After that click on “More action” option which is visible at top right side of the browser and you will see “Settings” option.
    • Under “Settings” scroll down and you will see a button “Choose what to clear” under “Clear browsing data” option.
    • Once you click on this option you will see list of feature like
    • Browsing History
    • Cookies and saved website data
    • Cached data and file
    • Download history
    • Form data
    • Password.
Hope this information is helpful. Please get back to us with the information required, if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.

    Thanks

  4. Department Code keeps clearing itself under printing preferences

    Clear Pagefile on Shutdown

I've been looking into clearing the pagefile, and I found the following steps at a somewhat dated webpage:
    1. In the registry editor, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management
    2. Set ClearPageFileAtShutdown to the REG_DWORD value of 1.
    3. Restart Windows.
I'm just wondering whether those steps are still valid, and, if so, does clearing the pagefile work as advertised?
