    Dependency service or group failed to start


    Hello, last night I upgraded to win 10 home from win 7. However, I noticed that I was unable to use the Start Menu Search function or open the start menu and found out I was only connected to my Local Area Connection (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller), and my connection/internet is limited. There were no other connections available or found!
    So I opened up the Network and Sharing Center only to find that where my network should show it says "Unknown - The dependency service or group failed to start."
    In conclusion, I cannot connect to any private networks - possibly because of this dependency service error. Any help or fix would be appreciated!

    Hi,

    See if performing a System Restore rollback to a date before you ran the speed booster program helps.

    1. Press WinKey + R, type rstrui.exe and press ENTER. This starts the System Restore UI.

    2. Click "Choose a different restore point", and click Next.

    3. Enable the "Show more restore points" check box, and click Next, and click Finish.

    4. Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the process.

    Hi,

    For us to better assist you with your concern, kindly provide us with the following information:

    • Have you tried connecting your PC through wired connection to check if the same issue occurs?
    • Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling your Wi-Fi driver?
    • Are you receiving any error codes or messages?

    For the meantime, kindly launch your PC on
    safe mode with networking     to further isolate the root cause.
