  1. Deploy Printer on network using local group policy (Windows 10 Pro Laptop)

I am trying to deploy a printer that is connected to my laptop via USB. I am trying to use local group policy to accomplish this. I have done the following in the admin account:

    1) Connected the printer Cannon MG3500 to my laptop and installed the drivers.

    2) Shared this printer on my home network which is of type Private.

    3) I see the printer connected in my admin account.

Now my laptop has three non-admin users; Test, Test1 and Test2. I want to deploy this printer only to Test and Test1 users. Test2 should not be able to install the printer drivers and use them.

Now, while logged in as admin, I open group policy editor and make sure that the following setting are enabled:

Deploy Printer on network using local group policy (Windows 10 Pro Laptop) 6fb11886-b1b1-4298-93ce-e12020a750e5?upload=true.png

In the approved servers I am defining the print server that I created on my laptop (\\x.x.x.x\printer_name)

I verified that network discovery and file and printer sharing is turned on for private network.

Now I can deploy the printer for the whole computer in the GPO local computer policy and the printer gets deployed, no problem.

When I try to go deploy the printer in the GPO Local Computer\Test Policy (Test user policy) it always shows the printer status pending, I don't know why.

Deploy Printer on network using local group policy (Windows 10 Pro Laptop) 416eb5f1-498d-444e-a61b-32e2a49e37f0?upload=true.png

So does this mean that I can deploy the printer, I have to deploy it for the whole computer and cannot do it for specific users? (non-admin)

Also I tried deploying the printer using print management, right-click on the printer and select deploy with group policy. This did not work as well.

I am trying to do this on a laptop that is running Windows 10 Pro and is not connected to a DC.

Can someone please help me with my dilemma ?

    Thank you

KB4089848 Breaks Group Policy Deployed Printing

We are a Windows 10-1709 shop. We have a number of new Canon printers in our office which are deployed via AD Group Policy.

When KB4089848 is installed on a workstation, the local print spooler continues to stop, the printers are greyed out and are not available for programs to use, and old printers appear as the same sort of greyed out ghosts.

Workstations which have not installed KB4089848 do not experience this issue.

Has anyone else been experiencing this issue?

Wireless Network Deployed Through Group Policy Becomes Corrupted

In our organization we have three wireless networks that we deploy to all PCs using Group Policy. This allows users to automatically connect to the wireless networks with pass-through Windows credentials. The SSIDs of the wireless networks are hidden for
    security purposes.

Randomly, the networks will quit being recognized by the computer, and it will no longer automatically connect. For the users to connect, they must scroll to the bottom of their wireless networks listed and click on "Hidden Network." They are then prompted
for the SSID of the network and then asked for their Windows credentials.

The only solution we have found for this is to either delete the Windows user profile on the PC, or remove the network from Group Policy (which removes it from all PCs in the organization), then delete the network from the PC and add it back to Group Policy.
Neither one of these is a good solution.

We cannot delete the network using netsh because we get a message saying the network is deployed with Group Policy and is read only. I've also tried deleting the network from the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WlanSvc\GroupPolicy\Profiles.
However, this seems to have no effect.

Is there any way to deal with this wireless network profile corruption other than the two poor solutions I have found?
