Windows 10: Design change: missing option for selecting a specific folder on OneDrive for syncing with...

I am Dutch and only can show screenshots with Dutch-text. Original situation in Explorer menu:This menu allowed for selecting one of more specific folders on OneDrive for syncing with PC Windows-10 or 11 / 22H2This option is no longer there, because now you get: But I don't want to backup & sync my complete Picture-folder - just the folder for the actual year only and the Camera-album automatically filled by the OneDrive-app on my smartphone. And that option can't be found anywhere anymore and that is a mistake in some quite recent update.

How to reset Onedrive folder selection for desktop sync

I think I get what you're saying now. If I chose to download a file from OneDrive online in the past, as now, it would go to a download folder that wasn't in the list that was synced. So yes, if that file were edited in my download folder it would not be
synced to OneDrive. I never really used OneDrive this way though. I typically edit online, or within the synced folder locally.

I have to say I miss the option of viewing all the OneDrive folders that are online only, from the local device...

When you set up OneDrive to sync with your computer, a folder C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive will be created to store the contents. XXXX denotes your username. To move this folder to another location follow these simple steps:

1. Unlink OneDrive from your PC:

• Go to the taskbar notification area
• Right-click on the OneDrive icon
• Select settings
• Click: Unlink this PC

2. Delete the C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive folder

3. Create a new folder (target folder) for OneDrive contents, e.g. D:\OneDrive

4. Create Directory Junction for the new folder

• In the search area of the taskbar type CMD and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter
• In the command window type

mklink /J C:\Users\XXXX\OneDrive D:\OneDrive

adjusting it to your specific username and selection of the target folder

5. Link again OneDrive to your PC using the OneDrive icon in the taskbar notification area

 

OneDrive Selective Sync Error


When trying to deselect a folder to stop it from syncing, I get the following error message:




I know that he folder that I am trying to unsync is not changing. In fact, nothing is being changed and the onedrive icon in the taskbar says so too.

Any thoughts?
