Windows 10: Desktop and apps not responding to mouse

I've had this problem happen a few times now when I'm doing work or any other activity. My apps stop responding to my mouse: discord cannot be interacted with nor my desktop shortcuts nor even windows taskbar. I can use the keyboard shortcuts to open task manager and there I can restart windows explorer that fixes the bug. SFC scan shows no integrity violations. Does anyone have any clue what might me the problem?

The issue might cause if the device is not compatible. So, I suggest you to install the mouse in compatibility mode by following the steps provided below:

• Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.
• Right click on the setup file of the driver and select
  “Properties”.
• Select “Compatibility” Tab.
• Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.
• Let the driver install and then check the
  functionality.
