  2. D drive

    Hi,

Based on the details you have provided us, it appears that there might be some corrupted contents on the said partition. We can also consider that this is caused by a virus.

For us to check if a certain virus is hiding your files, kindly follow the steps below:

    • Type Command prompt in the search bar.
    • Type-in the following command:

      attrib -h -r -s /s /d D:\*.*
    • Press Enter to execute the command.

If you think that there is nothing important stored in it, then we suggest that you reformat your D drive so that you can use the free space for important files.

You can follow the steps below to start with the process:

    • Click on the File Explorer.
    • Select This PC.
    • Right-click on your D drive, then click on Format.
    • Follow the on-screen process to finish formatting the partition.

Let us know how it goes so that we can further assist you.

  3. D: Drive Mix Up

I kept getting notifications that my SSD was full. Not being a computer pro, I just grabbed my "Desktop" file from my C: drive and moved it over to the D: drive. Now my desktop shows everything that was in the D: drive and I can't find the original Desktop
folder or how to redo everything that I did. I just want to move my desktop back to the C: drive so that everything goes back to normal.

    Thanks!

desktop and d drive and files are mixed up.

I messed up my Desktop and D drive files.

Ok so I was being really dumb and tried to store the files stored on my Desktop in my D drive but everything got all jumbled and I did not get the desired result. I have tried restoring the default location on my Desktop which is now stated to be my D drive,
but I get an error stating "failed to build the list of regular subdirectories under D:/System Volume Information."

If I could be helped asap I would much appreciate it, thanks.
