Windows 10: Desktop Blue Icon Replaced by Regular Folder Icon

I had an issue with my computer that caused me to have to crash and restore it. In my user folder, the blue desktop icon has been replaced by a normal folder icon. I tried the right click on the properties, clicked location, then clicked restore defaults, apply and ok. I restarted the computer and it didn't fix it. I tried multiple times with no results. The odd thing is the blue desktop icon is showing in the quick access and other places in the computer. Everything else is working fine with the computer now other than this one thing.

Weird desktop icon behaviour on Steam

Yes, they are; however, when I right click on the "blue sphere" icon to change it and browse to the corresponding folder inside the Steam folder, it lets me go through all the steps, but the blue sphere remains. *Confused

 

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

 

Removing desktop icons

the icons are located in 'all users' folder somewhere (for example, i see a few shared icons in "C:\Users\Public\Desktop" )

The only way to fix those, is to remove the icons from there, and place them on to each users desktops manually. an admin may need to do this.
