Windows 10: DESKTOP camera driver

I have a desktop meaning it does not have a camera like a laptop does. So in a sense I can only have a camera by plugging in an external webcam. So I go and to that and my computer detects it as an audio device named USB2.0 Camera. So obviously my computer knows it is connected but it can't use it because it does not have the software to use it. My computer does not have drivers for camera or imaging device nor does it have a broadcasting settings. "Windows> Broadcasting settings> Camera> Test Camera". So in other words I just need the drivers or software to run a simple usb2.0 webcam plug and play so that my computer knows how to use it.

And yes I went on their website and downloaded all the drivers already, and I went on their support page and they told me that this motherboard does not come with camera drivers and windows is up to date



Usually there should be a cameras tab or a imaging device tab like there is on my surface pro 6 since it has a integrated camera.

I can plug the usb2.0 camera into my surface pro 6 and disable the integrated camera and the usb2.0 camera would work. Meaning the problem I have here is that my desktop lacks the software/drivers to use the camera.




And before you ask, yes I checked for hardware changes, show hidden items, update drivers. Nothing has worked I even tried to add a legacy hardware but obviously since the usb2.0 camera is a plug and play device it did not come with a disc or drivers to install.

device driver not installed or out of date or the installed driver failed.
In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• What is the model number of the Lenovo Desktop?
  
• Is Lenovo Vantage utility app installed on the PC?
  

• Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

Let us try few steps.

Step 1: Check Camera Settings.

1. Press Windows + I key to open Windows Settings.
   
2. Click on Privacy and select Camera from the left pane.
   
3. Click on Change check if it is toggled to On.
   
4. Also toggle the switch to On under Allow apps to access your camera
   

Step 2:Update Webcam driver.

We would suggest you to update the Webcam driver from Device Manager. Please refer this article to update the driver:

If the behavior persists, I suggest you follow the steps in the article below and see if it solves the problem:
