Windows 10: Desktop Computer Password Access

How might I access a desktop computer running Windows 10 which has an unknown or unresponsive log-on password?

• Is this a local or a Microsoft account?
• How did you reset the password?
• What message do you get when logging on?
• Does the problem persist with your spare admin account?
  

 

One computer cannot access other network computers.


So I've tried every troubleshooting step I know:

• Double checked that Net Bios was enabled
• Ran a bunch of network commands:
  • flushed DNS
  • registered dns
  • pinged and located the named computers successfully
• Reset my router to factory settings

Nothing works when I try to access via explorer. I'm still baffled by the fact that every other computer can access each other AND access this computer. It's just the outgoing connection from this machine that doesn't work.

Any thoughts?

Maybe your PC no longer has Internet access, so it would be unaware of the changed password. If so then you could use these options:

• Use the password that was valid last time you used the machine.
• Log on with your spare local admin account.
