Windows 10: Desktop files located in a onedrive folder, tried to uninstall onedrive folder. Bad results

I tried to uninstall onedrive because I didn't want it, but now my entire desktop has been deleted. Along with a year's worth of work, custom programs for music and all sorts of stuff. I guess I really should've kept using onedrive because the last time I backed it up was a year ago. Is there anyway to get my desktop and everything in it back? I know it's been deleted and there's probably nothing I can do but I'm on the bargaining stage of grief now.Besides from that now I also can't access my desktop or pictures folders because they were both under onedrive for who knows what reason. Windows 10 - OneDrive

Anyone know how to remove "OneDrive - For Business" from the Explorer navigation panel? I've tried just about every registry modification, and windows policy for "Onedrive" but they only seem to work for the consumer product, not for onedrive for business.

The onedrive product alone is so damn annoying and continues to load itself upon startup, even when it's explicitly remove from startup. It continues to automatically load and unload itself from within the startup folder... while I'm actively watching it load itself into the startup folder.

 

OneDrive folder problem

I use Windows 10 20H2 and want to get rid of OneDrive, I uninstalled the app but I still have a onedrive folder where all my desktop and other files are located. I want to remove the OneDrive folder and get my computer back to where it was before I tried OneDrive. I tried the suggestion of reinstalling the default location for my desktop but when I do I get a notice that my users folder for my desktop doesn't exist and asks if I want to create it. I'm not sure where to go from here, will creating a new users desktop folder solve my problem? Since my computer is currently working ok with the OneDrive folder, I don't want to do anything that will give me issues.

 

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.
