    Desktop Folder Appears Last in 'This PC' Despite Sorting by Name in Ascending Order Windows 11


    I've tried manually removing and re-adding registry keys, as well as using Winaero Tweaker to do the same, but neither worked. I also reset Windows Explorer settings to default, but that didn’t help either. Additionally, I looked for a solution to force the Desktop folder to appear first, but I couldn’t find one.

    downloads folder sort order won't change

    Hi everyone,

    I just took the latest Windows 10 update on Tuesday, and suddenly my downloads folder isn't sorted the way I want. It appears the default is to sort by name in ascending order, and it looks like that's how it's selected to display, however it's still sorting
    files by date. How do I get my downloads folder to sort by name again?

    Favourites Folders -alphabetical sorting within each Folder

    Hi Neil,

    Let me provide you now the steps on how to to sort your folders in alphabetical order.

    This method will allow you to arrange your favorites by alphabetical or by their numbers.

    Here are the steps:

    • Open Internet Explorer.
    • Click on Favorites.
    • Right-click on Favorites Bar.
    • Right-click on the Favorites folder.
    • Click on Sort by, then select Name and
      Ascending      .

    Sort order of files based on name is wrong

    Hi all,

    i sorted a list of files by NAME -> ASCENDING

    but i have noticed that the list is sorted incorrectly and not fully in name order, it is almost in name order. I have highlighted with a red line anything that is not in the correct sort order.

    I saw someone in the windows 10 forum that had the same issue a couple of years ago but no solution was achieved.

    This bug still exists in windows 11.
