    Desktop Folder gone?


    I recently deleted my desktop folder on accident while cleaning things out on one drive. I quickly restored it but most of my files were removed from my desktop. I tried moving the actual desktop folder form the C drive onto one drive but then I realized it didnt fix anything so I moved the desktop folder back onto my C drive. Now everything appearing on my desktop is linked into my onedrive and I see no default desktop folder inside the drive. How do I fix this and why cant I see folder location when i inspect a file's property.

    Why did the startup window get cleared?

    I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

    Hi,

    To help with you resolve the error upon starting up, we suggest that you perform the following steps:

    • Open This PC, then go to C:\Users\[your user account] folder.
    • Check if there are two Desktop folders. If so, delete the Desktop folder that contains no files.
    • Copy the Desktop folder that has files and paste it to
      C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\ folder.

    Update us on the result.

    Desktop Folder gone?

    windows 10 deleted my desktop files

    Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

    Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

    copied all files again to desktop.

    Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

    Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

    • Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
    • Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
    • Click on Users, select your User name
    • Go to desktop folder
    Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.
