Windows 10: Desktop folder is gone.

Discus and support Desktop folder is gone. in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; New Dell Desktop XPS 8960.Just uninstalled OneDrive, and now items on my desktop are gone.     Desktop folder is gone.


    New Dell Desktop XPS 8960.Just uninstalled OneDrive, and now items on my desktop are gone. I'm getting error message that desktop folder may have moved or been deleted. I never knew the desktop was a folder. This is terrible.

    Why did the startup window get cleared?

    I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

    Hi,

    To help with you resolve the error upon starting up, we suggest that you perform the following steps:

    • Open This PC, then go to C:\Users\[your user account] folder.
    • Check if there are two Desktop folders. If so, delete the Desktop folder that contains no files.
    • Copy the Desktop folder that has files and paste it to
      C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\ folder.

    Update us on the result.

    Desktop folder is gone.

    windows 10 deleted my desktop files

    Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

    Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

    copied all files again to desktop.

    Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

    Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

    • Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
    • Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
    • Click on Users, select your User name
    • Go to desktop folder
    Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.
