Windows 10: Desktop icons disappeared, tried everything.

Hello,after clearing my cache form the %temp% command, all of a sudden my desktop has gone blank, after a bit of research I tried following the usual online advice such as right-clicking the desktop and choosing View=>Show Desktop Icons, but that was ticked, then Itried going into Personalise and followed the steps that were given to follow there, got only my Recycle bin and This PC back, then I Updated Windows 10 22H2, and eventually I re-installed Windows, keeping my files and apps.Unfortunately, the desktop is still as blank as Kojak's head was bold, but all myapps are still in the sid

Desktop icons missing?

For some reason, between last night, when I OC'd, and sometime today, my desktop icons disappeared. I've tried downclocking to stock clocks, and enabling/disabling desktop icons does nothing. *Frown

I've tried restarting, it doesn't help either. *Frown

Hi Kinsley,

• Are you referring to the desktop icons?
• When did the icons disappear? Did you make any changes to the system Settings?

It's possible that your device is in Tablet mode. I suggest you to turn it off and check if the icons appear. To do so, select the
Action center icon on the taskbar (the little message box next to the date and time), and then select
Tablet mode to turn it on or off.
