Windows 10: Desktop Icons : Dreaded Blue box

I'm not sure if its possible, but I really don't like the blue boxes that appear by default on some of the application icons. I have tried everything to get rid of these blue boxes and nothing seems to work. Its a small aesthetic detail, but its driving me crazy. Can someone please help me get rid of these blue boxes?

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

 

Weird desktop icon behaviour on Steam

Yes, they are; however, when I right click on the "blue sphere" icon to change it and browse to the corresponding folder inside the Steam folder, it lets me go through all the steps, but the blue sphere remains. *Confused

 

Desktop Icons Won't Stay Put

As per the issue description I understand that you are facing issues with desktop icons.

I suggest you try the following step in order to arrange the icons.

• Right click on the desktop.
• Click on view
• Check the option auto arrange icons.
