Windows 10: Desktop icons on 2 separate user profiles

Do I have to share the same icons/folders/apps, etc...on the desktop of my user profile screen? I don't need/want most of the things on her user desktop. However, when I delete an item from "my" desktop it also deletes that same item from "hers".

Are these virtual Desktops, if they are, there is no way to have a different set of icons on each desktop.

If these are two separate Desktops for 2 different users, then the desktop is made up of two different folders, any icons that are in the Public Desktop folder will appear on all users Desktops

To access the Pubic Desktop, on the View Menu in File Explorer, turn on 'Hidden Items', then navigate to C:\Users\Public\Public desktop

Desktop Icons

Desktop icons are stored in two separate places:

• In C:\Users\Public\Desktop. These icons are visible to all accounts.
• In C:\Users\CuzClan\Desktop. These icons are visible to CuzClan only.

You can now arrange it so that certain icons are visible to everyone.
