Windows 10: Desktop Icons rearrange after every startup new monitor resolution

I replaced my main monitor yesterday 1080p to 1440p and since then my desktop items have rearranged every bootup. I suspect it is due to the resolution change since the icons are placed inside a rectangle in the top left corner of the desktop.How do I fix this issue?

Hello Manson, thank you for your assistance.

This problem started about two months ago, I believe it was after a Windows update.

1 - I am not using (and have never used) Docking, and have only one monitor.

2 - Screen resolution is set to Windows Recommended.

3 - Graphics card drivers are up to date.

The thread linked to steps given by A.User is about icons rearranging, which is not happening here. Open windows on my desktop are rearranging after leaving sleep, system icons are staying the same.

desktop icons rearrange after connect/disconnect external monitor

I use a second monitor to extend my desktop every day at work. After upgrade to windows 10, everytime I disconnect the monitor and restart all of my icons are now shoved to the left and rearranged by type. This is very frustrating. I've got 'auto arrange
icons' deselected and haven't found any other options. This is getting pretty frustrating, anyone have any suggestions?
