Windows 10: Desktop icons send me to Google search page site.

I don't know if I am asking my question in the right community site, but I thought I would start here.As of a day ago, after booting up my computer, when I click on a desktop shortcut icon, such as Yahoo, it goes to the Google Search page.Other icons that go to websites do the same thing.I use Chrome as my browser. I turned that off and switched to Microsoft Edge. No difference.When I right-click on the desktop icon and then click "Properties", then click "Shortcut", it shows "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application".My antivirus/malware software has not found any issues. I use Acronis.I

Keep in mind the default page for Firefox is Google search. Coincidence? I think not.

 

IE11 Google Toolbar no auto search suggestions, no search history?

Since the last Win 10 update my Google Toolbar won't list any search suggestions as I type and there is no search history listed. The Google tool bar will allow a search, but after a few searches no search history shows and no "clear search" button is listed either.

I have turnd on "Suggest searches as you type", and "store search histroy on my computer" in the Google Toolbar options.

Any suggestions to fix this?

The directions you need depend on what you are trying to do.

What is it that you want to happen (what used to happen) when you click on the Google icon on your desktop?

For example,

• Do you want Google Chrome (the web browser to start)?
• Do you want to go to Google.com (the search engine) using your default browser?
• Do you want to go to your Gmail account using your default browser?
