Windows 10: Desktop icons

I like to keep icons on my PC desktop until I become familiar with what the program does. Now when I decide I do want the program, I no longer need the programs icon on my desk top but I DO want to keep the program, when I right click on the icon then click on delete. (these steps use to just delete the Icon) Now a warning comes up that I am about to delete the entire program (G forbid). Why is it doing this, and how can I get it to delete just the desktop icon?

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

 

Desktop Icons Won't Stay Put

As per the issue description I understand that you are facing issues with desktop icons.

I suggest you try the following step in order to arrange the icons.

• Right click on the desktop.
• Click on view
• Check the option auto arrange icons.
