Windows 10: Desktop not updating

If I save things to the desktop I can't see them - either on the desktop itself or in File Explorer showing the desktop - until I press F5 to refresh. Anyone else getting this?

Groove desktop app not updating

I'm finding that the desktop (Win 10) version of Groove music is not updating with music added elsewhere, or updating elsewhere with music added elsewhere.

I have a mixture of actual MP3s and similar in the music folder, a little on OneDrive, plus subscription music on my Win 10 PC.

Music added on the web version, Xbox One and my Windows Phone (slowly in the latter case) update with each other.

If you have not sign in option in IE that app is damaged.

In that case you have some errors, to fix it you need to run some maintenance.

Check drive C for errors (right click on C and choose Properties, click tab Tools, Check and Scan drive)

To fix windows apps and services open command prompt as administrator (right click on Start button ),

and type

SFC /scannow

When it is finished exit and restart computer.

 

Clean install fixed this.

 

This is not a solution. Might as well say "get a sledgehammer, pulverize the damn thing and get a Mac."

 

Thanks for your input but clean install did solve it.

No one replied for a couple of months so I closed as the problem was gone. Through numerous upgrades over the last 2 years it didn't come back.

I'd suggest opening a new thread if you have a problem.
