Windows 10: Desktop on my PC not available

Hi , My desktop is now only available on my external harddrive. I think I may have deleted my desktop on my pc tablet by accident. Not sure AT all how the heck that happened. Luckily it is still all on my external harddrive but it is really hard to work with my pc because I have to plug in my external Seagate harddrive to a USB port on my Surface Pro Tablet every single time I want to work with apps on my desktop. All the apps are still available by me going into "start" on my pc/tablet and typing the name of the app. Help please. I have re-installed Windows 10 to see if that would bring my desktop back but no luck. Did not come back. Still only on ext H/D.

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

 

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??

To resolve your issue with flickering desktop, we suggest that you update your display drivers with the steps listed below:

• Right-click Start, then select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapters to find the name of your device.
• Right-click the device and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow steps to update display drivers.

Update us on the result.
