Windows 10: Desktop refresh when I try to left or right click!

I am on my desktop and whenever I left or right-click on my home screen, my screen goes white for a second and goes back to normal like a refresh I guess and I then can't access my context menu at all.It is hard to explain as I have never gone through something like this before and have tried everything out but still having this issue.

Cannot put icons on the left side of my desktop

You should be able to arrange your desktop icons however you want. Since you want them all aligned on the left side of your desktop screen, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Right-click at a blank area on your desktop.
• Hover on View.
• In the right pane, look for Auto arrange icons. If it's checked, make sure to uncheck it.
• Hover again on View.
• This time, check Align icons to grid. Your icons should now be aligned on the left side of the screen.

If the problem symptom returns [Desktop showing the correct contents when looked at in File explorer but not when looking at the Desktop itself], right-click on an empty area of the Desktop and select Refresh.

Many people have found that their Desktop's are not refreshing automatically and are forced to take this step. I searched & searched for a permanent solution but every suggestion I found either had no effect or had only a limited-duration effect.

My Desktop Icons shift to the left edge on a weekly basis

To assist you better, I would like to get more information regarding the issue that you re facing.

Does that mean that you customize the icons on the desktop and it will auto arrange to the left side of the desktop?

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to uncheck the option
Align icons to the Grid option. To do so,

• Right click on the desktop.
• Click on View.
• Uncheck Align icons to the Grid option.
