Windows 10: Desktop repeatedly restarts every 2 seconds

I just reset my laptop and reinstalled the OS win11 pro insider. After the introductory interchange, after logging on the desktop keeps restarting itself, i.e., blanks screen, redraws the background, paints the two icons recycle bin and ms edge, then the toolbar appears. A second later, it does this again. Ad infinitum! Nice!Any ideas what could be going wrong? Is it time to install Ubuntu?

• What are the troubleshooting steps you have already tried?

I would suggest you to unplug all external devices connected to the pc and restart the pc to check if you are able to get to the desktop screen.


Ensure to plug in the power cord to the socket and check if you are able to get to the desktop screen.

After getting to the desktop screen, ensure to install any pending updates and also update all device drivers from Device Manager. Once this is done restart the computer to check the status.

repeatedly restarting

Networking issue between 2 desktop & laptop

Hey bud, thanks for the suggestion (which I'm sure would have worked!)

An ipconfig /flushdns
Ipconfig /registerdns

Worked and fixed it for me. Other problems with the second desktop prevail at random however. Close to just using homegroup >.>
