Windows 10: Desktop Shell Folder Merged with User Shell Folder

Tried to move some files between drives to free up space on C. Ended up transferring the entire Desktop Shell to D. When I moved it back, it merged Desktop with User and now the User Shell Folders in Registry are a bit of a mess.I moved Desktop back into its own User Shell Folder but am at a bit of a loss with dealing with the other folders that are now %SystemDrive% instead of %USERPROFILE% as well as the duplicates.The User Shells that are now %SystemDrive% includeictures, 3D Objects, Videos, both Download shells, Saved Games, Contacts, Searches, Music, Links, and FavoritesAdditionally, Th

Accidental merge of desktop folder with User folder

I think creating a folder named "Desktop" under the Users\OEM folder is all that may be needed. Once done, move all the shortcuts to the Desktop folder.

Also, pls ensure that the Desktop folder path is correct, in this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

The value data should be %USERPROFILE%\Desktop

The value type should be REG_EXPAND_SZ.

Log off and log back in for the script/registry changes to take effect.

The entries in this subkey can appear in both the Shell Folders subkey and the User Shell Folders and in both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER. The entries that appear in user User Shell Folders
take precedence over those in Shell Folders. The entries that appear in HKEY_CURRENT_USER take precedence over those in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. \Shell Folders exists for backwards compatibility apparently.
