Windows 10: Desktop sort

Discus and support Desktop sort in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I have just upgraded to Windows 11. It looks 'cute' but the functionally is extremely poor.     Desktop sort


    I have just upgraded to Windows 11. It looks 'cute' but the functionally is extremely poor. Not ready for prime time. Since access to the Taskbar is hit-or-miss, I decided to put shortcuts to all my main apps on my desktop. Clearly when you have a lot of icons on the desktop you need to put them in a logical and rational arrangement. I tried sort by name. It doesn't work!

    Sorting Desktop Icons

    Hi Wayne,

    It is possible that you're unable to sort desktop icons due to incorrect settings. To better isolate your concern, we'd like to gather more information:

    • Have you made any recent changes before this issue occur?
    • Have you tried booting up your computer in Safe Mode and check if the issue still persist?

    Hi Yvonne,

    To resolve your issue with flickering desktop, we suggest that you update your display drivers with the steps listed below:

    • Right-click Start, then select Device Manager.
    • Expand Display Adapters to find the name of your device.
    • Right-click the device and select Update Driver Software.
    • Follow steps to update display drivers.

    Update us on the result.
