Windows 10: Desktop stopped working after an update this morning . Help me figure out what to do please

Today I opened up my PC and the desktop stopped responding to my mouse. It was not highlighting any icons and I couldn’t use my mouse to click anything. I ran sfc and dism from the command line and terminated all suspended processes. That didn’t work. I then proceeded to restore my pc and uninstall recent updates. Nothing is working. I can not right click and every now and then I can open an application. What gives? I use this pc for everything including school. Please help.

Remote Desktop Stopped working

It used to work. I've changed nothing. Windows 10 computers. All of a sudden it gives a "Your credentials did not work" error. I've tried everything listed in these forums but nothing works. I'm trying to access my desktop over my lan with a a wireless
laptop. I could do that this morning but now it won't work. Same user name same password. I suppose this was caused by some windows update or something. Is there a step by step troubleshooting procedure?

 

Two step verification notifications stopped on desktop

Yes, here's an example of some of my prominent phone examples, among others (My bank, Reddit, Firefox, etc.) from whom I expect to receive notifications, not to mention most recently. I do get Google Task notifications, along with MIcrosoft News, (local of course) but that's it





Link to Windows was just updated. Is it possible that has anything to do with it? I just checked the notifications within my Link to Windows desktop app. The notifications I'm expecting in the action center are listed there. I just noticed this, but that 'Customize task settings on Phone Link", but selecting that only deletes the task from the action enter

I don't know why I'm seeing this, and what Firefox has anything to do with it, particularly since that the only mention there that Firefox is recognized, & I only have 6 notifications in there at the moment

I Just got a notification from Verizon. Upcoming bill reminder. It figures that one would get thru. Let's see what happens from here. *Banghead

• Have you made any changes to the operating system that might have resulted in this?
• Which is the current version of Windows 10 installed on your device?

Press Windows + R keys from the keyboard, type
winver, and press Enter to know the Windows version installed.

This issue might have occurred due corrupted/ missing system files. Let us try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to sign-out from the current user account, restart the computer, sign in and check with the status of this issue.

This will help you to install the pending updates on your device.

Step 2: I suggest you to run a SFC scan and check if it helps.

System File Checkeris a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on the Start button, click on
  Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
  Enter.
• After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

Note: If you are not able to repair some files after performing SFC scan, I suggest you to refer to the point 3 “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to
fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log %WinDir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log”. Under the section “Run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)” to repair the corrupted files after performing SFC scan.

Step 3: I recommend you to install all the pending updates on your device and check if it helps.

Steps:

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.
