    Desktop suddenly went weird drag and drop just copies everything now


    So I was just doing my business, changing some stuff to get better fps for my game. Though when I went to the Nvidia Panel and changed a thing, everything went down hill. First of all, my wired keyboard and laptop keyboard just died all of a suddenThe laptop keyboard started working again, but only when my wired keyboard isn't plugged in, and second of all, when I drag some of the files from my game into my desktop, everything I tried to move would just say "Copy to" and then it would copy the thing I wanted to move. After that my desktop just looked like a mess. How do I fix this drag and

    Drag and drop from the Desktop Toolbar

    Why can I suddenly not drag and drop from the Desktop Toolbar? From within the Toolbar, when I try to either left click or right click on an item the entire Toolbar just disappears. I used to be able to left click and drag that somewhere (for example into
    an Outlook email) or right click and open/print/delete/etc. Suddenly that no longer works.

    If I then go to my actual Desktop and try to drag and drop from there, for example into a different folder on my computer, the item is simply copied into that folder but left on the Desktop. Please help!

    How to drag and drop programs to desktop


    I don't use Edge, but I have read that it gives no option about where to save downloads - they are always saved into your Downloads folder. So it would be a two step process. (1) download it (2) drag and drop from Downloads to Desktop.

    By the way, it's a good habit to always use the right mouse button for drag and drop. Then you can choose between move or copy or create shortcut.

    Hi Charles,

    the steps you suggested didn't work for me but, when pressing the escape key it somehow expanded the drive and by using drag and drop to the single file in the list worked.

    In the past I could drag and drop multiple folders onto the drive on the network computer(s). Doing it on individual folders will take far too long and time consuming and is not an option.

    Microsoft should be able to identify what is blocking it and issue a fix.

    My machine is multi boot so tomorrow I will try with Windows 7.
