Windows 10: desktop (win 10) icons open when I just want to move them manually. How to stop that.

When I try to move a desktop icon with my mouse the file opens rather than just move to a different spot on my desktop. How to stop that ? Thanks

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

Your suggestion does not work. It did work on Windows 7.

• How are you trying to add the favorites to desktop?

I suggest you to try the below steps to save the favorites on desktop and check if it helps.

• Open the Internet Explorer and minimize the screen.
• Then go to the favorites tab and then drag any favorites that you have saved to the desktop.
• Once you get the favorites items \ folders then you can open the favorites and check if it is opening.
