Windows 10: Desktop Window Manager Crashing

So my desktop window manager has started to crash recently, since 28/09/22, which causes the whole display to freeze. There appears to be no pattern that I can see in regards to what causes these crashes - will happen if PC is at load or is not at load. The display will freeze, but from the sounds of it I can still interact with what was on the screen before - I can still communicate over discord, pause and play videos obviously without the picture moving. From reliability monitor, its definitely the desktop manager, and when I had TPM enabled on my motherboard the majoirty of the time after

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

ive watch my temps and both the cpu and gpu are within normal ranges. when it freezes it simply freezes the image and stops the sound. i must reboot to get back to windows.

 

No restart button in task manager

another easy way to kill tasks, download and install Winaero Tweaker(free) and theres a setting to add a Kill non responding tasks using the desktop right click menu. When you place your cursor on the desktop anywhere and right click the option is at the top of the list, Very handy and you dont have to go through all those steps and well Winaero Tweaker has alot of cool Windows tweaks. Just posting a different suggestion, Im sure your ok with what was suggested here.
