    Destroyed MBR on Win10 - how to reinstall?


    Today i had a blackout and formatted the partition of the master boot record. Of course my laptop does not boot anymore. The system is win 10 64bitNow i try to reinstall it. I downloaded the MS repair tool and am able to get the repair options started. But i cannot solve the problem with the "bootrec"-tool.Does someone have a suggestion on what to do? I really would appreciate all help.Thank you in advance.

    *RESOLUTION FOUND*Malwarebytes crashing on Win10 insider Bld. Rootkit related errors?

    Ill try tomorrow am.
    Aside from OS reinstall, your suggestion is one of the only steps I haven't taken yet.

    Im gonna get some sleep and come at this with a fresh head tomorrow

    Hi John,

    That shouldn't be an issue at all. If for some reason it seems you do need to convert the drive, check out this link -
    Convert GPT to MBR

    Scroll down to - Convert GPT to MBR using Command Prompt, it has a step by step guide on how to convert the drive.
