Windows 10: Detect if a Java is being used

How can I tell if any application is using Java? Is always created a process java.exe or javaw.exe? Could it be hidden in another process and be hard to detect? I'm using platform 1E to detect Java usage, but it will only detect explicit processes.The thing is I want to uninstall unused java installations on devices, but I wanna be sure they're not using Java.

My Norton Power Eraser detected "an older version of Java has been detected"

After having to get help from Norton Security, they had me perform a Power Eraser Scan.

A warning came up stating that it detected a older version of Java that might have put me at risk.

The next Norton agent suggested me to contact Microsoft since the OS uses Java and by removing

anything related to Java might due damage.

I see in the appwiz.cpl, that there are 2 Java programs listed:

1 - Java 7 Update 71

2 - Java 7 Update 45 (64-Bit)

I won't do anything until I get advice from Microsoft as to how to proceed? Thank you.

 

Internet explorer & java

1) What exactly you are trying to do with java/ do you receive any error message related to java, while trying to open Microsoft Edge?

2) Do you receive any error message when trying to open Internet Explorer?



I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Clear caches and cookies of Internet Explorer.

Follow the steps below:

• 
  Press Shift + ctrl + Delete key on your keyboard.
  
• 
  Mark check on cache and cookies and click on Delete button.
  

Step 2: Run Printer troubleshooter.

• 
  Type troubleshooting in the search area on the taskbar and select
  Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select View all on the top left corner.
  
• 
  Click Printer.
  
• 
  Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

Java not working- can't play games

• Do you get any error messages while inserting CD?
• Is the issue specific with a particular CD?

To resolve the issue with CD not getting detected, I suggest you to run hardware and troubleshooter to check if basic hardware settings are set correctly.

a) Press the Windows key on the
keyboard.

b) Type troubleshooter in the search box
and then press enter.

c) Select “Hardware and Sound” from the Troubleshooter Window.

d) Select “Hardware and Devices”.
