    Determining why USB port is still active/powered after Sleep


    I have a Razer Blade Stealth 13 2017 with one of its USB ports hosting a cooling fan. About two months ago, I noticed that when the computer sleeps either after idling for too long or manually put to sleep the USB still supplies power to the cooling fan. This never was the case before, and I did not change any power settings, the USB Selective Suspend is still enabled for both battery and plugged-in. I've been trying to solve an entirely different problem, that I do not have time to address here, but what would be preventing the USB port from powering down after the laptop is in sleep mode

    windows 10 USB power output

    The maximum current that can be supplied by a USB port is determined by the chip that drives it. It is not determined by the amount of power that the battery or power supply could deliver. The USB standard specifies 500 mA and this is what the makers comply
    with. Maybe future USB generations will raise this limit.

    Since latest update, USB port powers off when laptop goes into sleep mode. How do I change settings to allow continuous power for USB port?

    All USB ports active in sleep mode

    Hello,

    I had to reformat my Toshiba Qosmio laptop. Now, when I put it in sleep mode, all 4 USB ports have power. Before the format, only the Sleep and Charge port was active, so it could charge other devices.

    I have also noticed it happens because of the wireless mouse adapter. When removed, the ports power down.

    Everything worked before the reformat. I had to change something somewhere for the mouse previous, and I don't remember what I had to set, and can't find it online. I have tried everything I have found online, but no luck.

    All USB ports have "Allow Computer to turn off device to save power" selected. The setting for the mouse is grayed out. In power settings the USB Suspend doesn't work in Enabled or Disabled mode (currently Enabled), any ideas as what I might be missing?

    Generic USB mouse...
