  1. "Device can perform faster when connected to USB 3.0 port" - it already is.

I use my phone (Xperia XZ Premium) for tethering, since it's the best way to get fast internet on my pc. I tested it with two diffrent cables, diffrent ports, checked bios to find if I somehow disabled a USB 3, reinstalled USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller (every port is a 3.0 one btw). At this point I've run out of ideas, so I decided to ask here. What can I do to fix this? Or is it just a cosmetic bug? I know that my phone doesn't charge as fast as it would on a charger, but I don't know if pc supplies the same power as a charger. I also don't know if the bandwidth is the same as a USB 2.0 port, or a USB 3.0 one.

Also, an issue that might be unrelated to this: my phone disconnects all by itself often. It happens with both of my cables, and it only stops data transfer, my phone still charges. So unless there is something with data pins in both of my cables or my phone, there is something wrong with windows and I want to fix it.

  3. Device can perform faster when connected to USB 3.0

I have an external drive (Buffalo MiniStation 3.0) and could not be access anymore after upgrading to Windows 10. It is not displayed in windows explorer but it is displayed in "connected devices" with the message "Device can perform faster when connected
to USB 3.0. My laptop is Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series and I think it is not equipped with USB 3.0 port but the device was working before I upgraded from Windows 8.1.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

  4. "Device can perform faster when connected to USB 3.0 port" - it already is.

USB 3.0 device with message "Device can perform faster when connected to USB 3.0"

I have a Realtek wireless adapter, which is labelled as a USB 3.0 device, connected to a USB 3.0 port but I'm getting the message: "Device can perform faster when connected to USB 3.0"

I have read multiple posts and tried many steps, including:

    - Uninstalling/Updating the device driver

    - Uninstalling/Updating the USB 3.0 controller

    - Updating Windows 10

    - Reviewing BIOS settings

One interesting thing comes from the usbview program. Notice that "Supported Protocols" is NO for 3.0:

Also, all the USB 3.0 ports (circled in red) don't appear to be connected:
