Windows 10: Device descriptor request failed on TP-LINK UB400 Bluetooth Dongle Code 43

It's been a headache. I don't even know the correct drivers to use for this dongle.DXDIAG summary:BIOS: 1.10Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 @ 2.80 GHzGPU: NVIDIA GTX 1050 TiWindows 10 Pro 64-bitWindows Update drivers don't work either.

Bluetooth stopped working (Device Descriptor Request Failed) Code 43

The Bluetooth on my Gigabyte Aero 14 (Windows 10 Home 19042.685) suddenly stopped working. I can't find it anymore in device manager, and in its place there's an entry under "Universal Serial bus controllers" that says "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)".





I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the device, but I keep getting the same error: the device status reports the message:

Also tried uninstalling/reinstalling all USB devices following , which describes the same issue I have).

Installed and reinstalled Bluetooth drivers too (Download Software and Drivers for Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)). The Windows 10 troubleshooting tool didn't help, and says I do not have Bluetooth on this computer.

Services.msc reports that Bluetooth Support Service is running (Automatic Trigger Start). Bluetooth User Service doesn't seem to start automatically, but I can manually turn it on. Doesn't have any effect though.

I ran scannow and cleanup image, but those didn't help.

Anything else I can try before calling it a hardware failure and... buying a Bluetooth dongle I guess?

 

Problem with USB Bluetooth Dongle TP-Link UB400

Hi, I tried many different troubleshooting steps and none seem to work, it shows up as KOGA dongle Bluetooth headset when all it is a small dongle. No devices pop up in discovery mode either. I tried both the generic Bluetooth adapter driver and the CSR 4.0 driver that TP-Link's website had me download neither worked as no devices show up in discovery.

Maybe it's time to step back from the current efforts, and start over. I suggest you read over this excellent tutorial and try all of its steps: [Solved] Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) for Windows 10 - Driver Easy. The one that may provide you with some easy relief is the one where you uninstall the device whose descriptor is failing, reboot, and see what happens when device enumeration recurs during boot-up. If you're lucky, it will fix itself.
