Hello,

After recent windows update 10.0.19041 my secondary monitor gets not detected on system boot. There is a warning in events:


Warning 24/12/2020 13:09:59 Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP 442 None "Device DISPLAY\Default_Monitor\5&302cfc2b&0&UID4864 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.


Primary monitor has a message in the events about successive migration.


Strange thing that it gets detected after system reboot.

After hibernation it also fails to be detected.




The monitor is Acer K192HQL


So, far I have tried

1. Deleting the device from Device Manager and rebooting. After that I get the same warning message.

2. Updating the Generic Non-Pnp driver to the latest one Acer recommends for this model. This required to disable Driver Signatur Enforcement cause the driver is pretty old and didn't had the signature.


Neither of this helped, please advice

Projector not working - not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match

had not Check the box that says, "Delete the driver software for this device." device before. Did both again.

No success though. Now however when I do

right click scren > display settings > is no lonnger showing the second screen.

but when I go into

control panel > hardware and sound > devices and printers is still showing the same:

Generic PnP monitor and in the events of the PNP monitor it is saying device not migrated (but the date now is today)

Stuck with the "Device was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match." issue

I have now two occurrences of this problem and there seems to be no way to resolve it. I already checked all information on the Internet and did all troubleshooting and uninstall / install operations - nothing helped. But let me describe the issue:

1. With the Logitech Mouse M705:

It suddenly stopped working and I noticed the "Device was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match" in the USB Composite Device properties. I changed to another Logitech Mouse with another remote adapter and this worked for a while until it got the
same issue. And so I changed to yet another mouse with a cable connection and this works as of now.

2, With an ASUS external display connected via HDMI

This happened last night while using the display. The display stopped working after using it for a couple of hours in the middle of a Karaoke party. I checked the event viewer and noticed that there was some automatic WIndows Update going on at the time
it stopped working. I still can connect the device and Windows recognizes the device but nothing is displayed. And of course the "Generic PnP Monitor" device has this crazy "was not migrated" issue. When I open the "Advanced Display Settings" I can see both
displays listed. As you might guess the mouse workaround by buying new mice would be too costly for displays.

Note that all my drivers are up to date including the Intel drivers and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050, which is listed for the malfunctioning display.

The system is a Windows 10 Home Edition Version 1803.

hi my problem is that i have a acer ed273, so 144hz and 120hz are fine but when i turn to 60hz my monitor turns to different colors, i have a laptop connected thru a HDMI and a 1060gtx.
