Windows 10: Device drive error 31

pc specs: CPU: Intel E5-2650 v2 2.6ghz GPU 1: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050ti GPU 2: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 the one with the error RAM: 32GBI was playing a game when all of a sudden it crashed and bot my monitors went black for a second,after roughly a second one came back on but the other didn't and my monitor said :there is no signal coming from your computerI know that the monitor and cables are finein the device manager the 680 appears but not in the task managerin the device manager it has a yellow triangle on it and when I look at the properties it says:This devic

To resolve the error code that you encountered, we recommend that you check this support page article:
Error codes in Device Manager in Windows. Please refer to
Code 31: "This device is not working properly" section and follow the suggested troubleshooting steps.

CD drive error

1) Close all open programs
2) Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter
3) Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4) This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

UpperFilters
LowerFilters
UpperFilters.bak
LowerFilters.bak
5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor
7) Reboot your computer
8) Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

And it likely has something to do with the emulated drive you have listed there.

 

Portable devices Error 31

Hi just upgraded from 8.1 to 10.

All my portable devices are showing error 31 - driver errors.

2 x Seagate Backup Plus Desktop 4Tb

1 x Seagate Backup Plus Desktop 2Tb

1 x Seagate Desktop 2Tb

1 x Touro Desktop 2Tb

1 x Verbatum 128gb SSD

The drives keep dropping out and then coming back. I remember this happening in 8.1 but do not remember the yellow pling's in device manager.

Any help would be appreciated.
