Windows 10: Device Manager is not in the Computer Management

It's strange that Device Manager is not in the Computer Management on my Win10. It was there yesterday, but I don't know why it disappeared.

Any method of adding it back? Thanks!

Tried group policy editor but that didn't solve the problem.

Try right clicking the start flag and select Device Manager. See if that helps you.

 

Sorry that I didn't mention that device manager is there. I can run it via your way or typing devmgmt.msc.

It's just not in the Computer Management.

 

Still shows in mine. Win 10 Pro build 10586.494.





Try runnning sfc /scannow from a Elevated Command Prompt, see if that helps.

I thought the recommendation would work, but it didn't. Strange.

 

Cannot read Chinese but did you set it to "Not Configured" ?

 

Sorry about the Chinese*Smile, but yes, they're all 'not yet configured', not 'disabled'.

 

Sorry that I missed your reply. I have tried sfc /scannow. It told me that it fixed some damaged files.

But device manager didn't come back to the computer management.

 

There's entry for Device manager i the right click menu on Start button. That's handiest place to find it.

 

It does work this way. Just want to know how to fix this issue.

 

Run these in sequence.

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
SFC /scannow

Run sfc up to 3 times if necessary until it reports no problems found.
