    Relevant backstory:I have Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2, OS Build 19045.5854 running on a PC I put together myself from various components. Everything ran smoothly with no Device manager issues until I tried to update to Windows 11 about a week ago. After the update, I could not configure the system to connect to the internet, so I decided to use the Windows Help Assistant to roll back to Windows 10. Something went wrong with the rollback and the system was left unable to boot. Using boot media from a thumb drive was unable to repair the system in the recovery environment, so I opted to cl

  2. No hardware listed in Device manager?

    I don't konw whathappend but in Device manager and in my Network connections there is nothing where there used to be a Modem listed and all my hardware in Device Manager. What happend and how do I fix this?

    The Code 28 refers - The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

    Recommended resolution - Install the driver

    you may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.

    Follow the steps below.


    • Press Windows+ X, and select Device Manage.

    • Now expand the devices and check if you are getting any exclamation or cross marks with the devices listed. Right click the device to view the properties of the device and click the
      Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the
      Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to install the driver.

    If you do not get any driver listed to perform the update then I would suggest you to visit the manufacturer web site, download and install the latest drivers for your System.
