Windows 10: Device region and keyboard language

Discus and support Device region and keyboard language in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I have got a windows 10 device in which I don't have access to powershell, only CMD for commands, settings and control are restricted so I am unable to...     Device region and keyboard language


    I have got a windows 10 device in which I don't have access to powershell, only CMD for commands, settings and control are restricted so I am unable to access region setting there, how can I get US layout and region removed and set it to UK layout by default using command prompt, if needed I can access regedit and some other admin tool you can access from command prompt.

    Hi Panupong,

    The updated Windows 10 may have detected your language, the reason why it automatically gave you the other Thai US keyboard. To correct this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

    • Click on the Start Menu, type in region and language settings and select it.
    • Under Languages, select Thai Kedmanee keyboard and click Remove.
    • Lastly, add it back by clicking Add a language.

    After these steps, your keyboard layout will permanently stay with Thai Kedmanee keyboard.

    Let us know if the steps above resolved your issue.

    The option to reset the language and region can either be done in the Control Panel or the Settings app. Since you are having issues with the reset option, we would like to ask for additional information to help us provide the appropriate troubleshooting
    steps. Please answer the following:

    • What build and version of Windows 10 is your PC running on?
    • Did you get an error after resetting the language and region?
    • In which language and region are you trying to reset it to?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

    Language/Keyboard default

    Hi Sandra,

    You can try these steps to set up your preferred defaults:

    • Go to Settings and click Time & Language.
    • Click Region & Language.
    • Click on your default system language then, click Options.
    • Click Add a keyboard then choose your preferred keyboard language.
    • Remove the other keyboard language by choosing it then click Remove.

    Tell us if this works.
