Windows 10: Devices and Printers - Add Device / Add a printer - Flashes and closes

Hello,


I have Windows 10 1909 and when i go to:


control panel - Devices and Printers - Add Device / Add a printer the menu flashes for 1 sec and then closes.


Also if i go to:


start menu - settings - devices that menu also flashes for 1 sec and them closes.


In addition Bluetooth settings don't work.


I don't have a printer installed and i don't have any Bluetooth devices i just noticed that those menus don't work.

I have installed windows about a month ago. I have setup my computer exactly like i want it it's very stable and fast and would not like to format and start over.


I have tried the usual routine:



sfc /scannow


DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth


DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth


DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup


Get-appxpackage -all *shellexperience* -packagetype bundle % {add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode $_.installlocation + “\appxmetadata\appxbundlemanifest.xml”}


and didn't help at all.


I have tried to find relevant error messages in Event Viewer but nothing came up.

I assume some service is not starting properly or something similar that's why the menus won't work.


Any help will be appreciated.

"Add a device" or "Add a printer" dialog

Hi,

I am running Windows 10, and, when I go to the "Devices and Printers" window, I have no "Add a Device" or "Add a Printer" dialog appearing when I click the related buttons in the top-right. I only see a brief flash of a blank opening window, and then nothing.

I am trying to add a printer to my computer, so of course I am not getting very far like this. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

How do I add a device (Scanner) to the Windows list of devices?
My scanner an Epson Perfection V500 Photo is working.
It is USB connected yet I can not find it in device manager.
It shows as not connected in:
Settings> Devices > Printers & scanners

Add IP Printer


Hell Y'all. I hope someone can help me. I am trying to add a Xerox network printer. Have gone through the normal add printer process and via IP. The printer does not show up under printers but is listed under unspecified. I can not click on or right click on. if I mouse over it shows status of Device setup in progress.
