Windows 10: Devices and Printers - Cannot Add a device, screen FLASHES and CLOSES

Windows is up to date. I have tried everything.control panel - Devices and Printers - Add Device or Add Printer the menu flashes for 1 sec and then closes.Additionally, Bluetooth doesn't work, adding a bluetooth device results in the same, The "Select A bluetooth device" window asks to choose which kind of device to add, and the window pops up to say "make sure your device is discoverable then select from the list below..." but this window closes immediately making it impossible to add a BlueTooth Device. So I cannot add ANY device.This error logs when trying to add a new d

Thank you for trying to help. Tweaking.com's tool + Windows Update fixed the Add a device / Add a printer flashing and closing now these 2 menus do work

The only problem that remains now is with system settings:

* Start menu
* Gear icon
* Devices

Clicking Devices closes the whole Windows Settings. Any ideas for that ?

Ok, good, see post #6, then given your post #3 you could try the appropriate command to re-register Settings
Reinstall and Re-register Apps in Windows 10

but that still wouldn't deal with

Is your problem similar to this - note the additional Add device that was failing and things that were tried:
'Add a printer' dialog crashes immediately

(Note: Tweaking.com's tool offers a 'repair print spooler' repair, but your problem may be different)

I have Windows 10 1909 and when i go to:


control panel - Devices and Printers - Add Device / Add a printer the menu flashes for 1 sec and then closes.


Also if i go to:


start menu - settings - devices that menu also flashes for 1 sec and them closes.


In addition Bluetooth settings don't work.


I don't have a printer installed and i don't have any Bluetooth devices i just noticed that those menus don't work.
I have installed windows about a month ago. I have setup my computer exactly like i want it it's very stable and fast and would not like to format and start over.


I have tried the usual routine:




sfc /scannow


DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth


DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth


DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup


Get-appxpackage -all *shellexperience* -packagetype bundle |% {add-appxpackage -register -disabledevelopmentmode ($_.installlocation + “\appxmetadata\appxbundlemanifest.xml”)}


and didn't help at all.


I have tried to find relevant error messages in Event Viewer but nothing came up.
I assume some service is not starting properly or something similar that's why the menus won't work.


Any help will be appreciated.
