    Devices can't connect to Windows 10 hotspot over 5Ghz band


    I can't get any of my android or ios devices to connect to windows 10 hotspot over the 5Ghz band. It works fine with 2.4Ghz.

    Whenever I use 5G, the android phone says 'Obtaining IP address' and doesn't connect. If I use static IP on android, it will connect but show 'No Network'. I've even tried turning off my bitdefender firewall but it's the same.

    It was working fine few months ago and I don't know what caused this problem. I've tried updating wifi drivers, network reset, netsh winsock reset , dns flush and ip reset etc. But they didn't help.

    is the support provided by intel. They've asked me to set the channel to 32. but I don't see a way to do it.

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Device Manager

    Expand Network adapters

    Right click your wireless adapter

    Click Properties

    Click the Advanced tab

    In the Property list, choose Band

    In the Value list box, select 5 GHz

    Click OK
