Diagnosing 0xC1900101 Subcode 0x3000D Errors When Upgrading to Windows 10 Version 2004

I have two 4GB RAM/64GB flash LattePands with Intel Cherry Trail Z8300 processors.

Aside from a WiFi issue, I have have been able to keep Windows 10 current up to version 1909. Attempts to upgrade to version 2004 May 2020 failed on both LattePandas after the second reboot with error 0xC1900101 subcode 0x3000D. No errors were displayed other than "Attempting to recover installation" and "Undoing changes made to your computer". The Event Viewer/Application logged a WinSetupDiag02 info event that included the subcode and pointers to logs.

I have gone through the basic troubleshooting - no Device Manager issues, sfc /scannow runs clean, and the Windows Update troubleshooter does not identify any issue. One LattePanda has only 12GB free space but the other has 26GB so I have done subsequent tests with this device. Normally, the LattePandas run headless with ghost HDMI adapters and are accessed via VNC. I connected the LattePanda to an HDMI display and a wireless keyboard/mouse but the upgrade still failed.

    The Event Viewer/Application shows

    Fault bucket , type 0

    Event Name: WinSetupDiag02

    Response: Not available

I have captured the first five listed files, but none of the WER files exist. rollback\setupact.log shows evens after the rollback was initiated. I scanned Panther\SetupAct.log but found nothing that indicates why the rollback was triggered with the possible exception of "SYSPRP SPPNP: Device 'DISPLAY\INT22B8\4&886D741&0&UID139960' using driver 'oem33.inf' needs reboot 0x880." oem33.inf appears to be for an OV5693 camera sensor and the Device Manager shows an AVStream Camera, although there isn't a camera connected to the LattePanda. The log ends with a lot of "MIG" entries.

Any guidance on helping identify the root cause of the update issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Norbert

    :)
