Windows 10: Did a hacker stop my PC from getting updates

It has been a year and a half since i last received an update. Whenever i check for update in my settings, i would be given an error message and a key at the of it.I tried looking into it ; searching for similar problems in the Internet, I even followed the steps to check wht the cause is. But all was in vain, not even troubleshooting solved it.Please what is the cause of this.

Hacker put password on PC, need help to get into PC

I would copy all important files to an external drive, and reinstall the computer, since you never know what the cybercriminals did to the current install.

Contact the bank and let them know what happened, and change ALL his passwords for ALL his online services (Banking, Social Media, PayPal, Shopping)

Some of these steps (like installing Windows) should be left to a professional if you don't know what you're doing.

1. Get a thumbdrive, and install any flavour of Live Linux to it. Perhaps Linux Mint (Linux Mint - Community)
   
2. Boot the PC in Linux and see if the files are accessible. (eg. not encrypted by the hacker)
   
3. Plug in an external hard drive, and copy all important files from the computer's internal drive to the external drive.
   
4. Reinstall Windows and any other applications he uses.
   
5. Create a user account for him WITHOUT Administrative rights, AND an admin account which is password protected.
   
6. Give him access to the standard user account only.
   

 

Cheap Photo box that will get the job done

WEll i took on this project for PP hes a hardware reviewer and wants to get the professional looking pics for the Pc parts

Materials:

• Big cardboard box

• a razor

• white material 3 yards

• cone lights

• stapler

• medical tape

• pvc pipe about 6 inches longer than your box

• white paint any cheap finger paint would work

the project I'm guessing will cost me $30 if it works out properly
I will post pictures and step by step as i do it

 

Intel E5200 Gets Updated, R0 Stepping Coming Up

Intel's Pentium Dual-Core E5200 processor is getting on course for a specifications update. The chip will feature in a new, improved Wolfdale-2M core, spec'd out as the R0 stepping, from its current M0 stepping. The new stepping is intended to add new instructions, power-management features, and bring about changes in the chip-package. A short list of known changes is as follows:

• CPUID changed from 10677 to 1067A
• Power State Indicator (PSI) support with Intel 4 series chipsets
• New instructions - XSAVE and XRSTOR
• New S-spec and MM numbers
• New halide-free chip package

Due to the changed CPUID, users may require BIOS updates to detect the CPU. According to the company, E5200 R0 should be out by April 13.
