I have an old-ish application which worked fine on Win10 64-bit.
That is, until I agreed to upgrade to the Creators edition two weeks ago.
    Now it simply won't work.
Its complaining of a missing runtime DLL.

Did Win10 creators ed., just get rid of a bunch of legacy DLLs, ... what could a solution be?

App Container profile failed with error 0x800700B7 because it was unable to register the AppContainer SID.

No you're not missing anything. The AppModel-Runtime Event ID 37 was introduced with the Creators Update and no one has a solution so far. The error is displayed twice on every boot even on a clean install. The only way to get rid of it is to disable the
AppModel-Runtime log in event viewer settings, but that's rather a workaround then a real solution.

The people who marked the reply as 'Solved' are simply ignoring it.

  3. How to "Manually" Install Win10 v1607 Updates

I am currently running Win10, version 1607, and want to keep this version until after 2017 tax reporting. I have "2" v1607 updates (KB4056887 and KB4040411) to install in my Update History which require a Restart. I keep getting this annoying "blue Update
Message" displayed that I continually override. Win10 v1709 (Fall Creators Update) is also sitting in my Update List.

I did not "Auto Update" to Win10 v1703 (Creators Update) or Win10 v1709 (Fall Creators Update) in anticipation of your typical Microsoft update anomalies that I don't have time to troubleshoot. Additionally, I really don't need all of those fancy 3D & movie
    creation features at this time.

So is there a way to "manually" update those "2" v1607 updates, to get rid of the annoying "Update Message", without also updating to v1709 (Fall Creators Update)??

Have you tried reinstalling that application ? Did you look for that DLL file and if it actually exists ?
Many programs/applications/drivers use "Shared DLLs" shared with system DLLs and get replaced by some updates to ensure system stability but may interfere with older programs.

  6. They call it "Creator's Update", but I think it should be named "Destroyer's Downgrade".
It's a mess for this OP, and for countless others. Madness.

This is just another example of Microsoft's poor software QA and disregard for its customers.
