Keyboard shortcut to pause state updates in Windows 10 Task Manager?

Holding down the Ctrl key on any tab of the Windows 10 Task Manager interface will temporarily pause UI updates and data recording until the Ctrl key is released.

  3. Task manager doesn't update resources on real time

    Hi,

It's possible that the Performance window in your Task Manager has been paused. For us to verify this, let's verify if it's really paused or set to a normal speed. Please follow the steps below:

    • Right-click on the task bar and click Task Manager.
    • In the Task Manager window, click the Performance tab.
    • At the top, click View.
    • Navigate to Update speed. If it's paused, then click
Normal. Your Performance tab should now be working.

We're looking forward to your feedback.

    Regards.

Task Manager does not unpause itself when the computer is unlocked

I think I see what you mean now - let me clarify what my issue is: The following happens reproducibly on my computer:

    • I launch Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC)
    • I set "View>Update speed" to "Normal"
    • I lock the computer (CTRL+L)
    • I unlock the computer
    • "View>Update speed" is now suddenly "Paused"

Why does this happen? How to prevent it?
