  1. Diffent sized monitors and the different sizes of the screens

I have a 3440x1440 and 1920x1080 dual monitor setup and as shown in the picture have a big size difference of what's displayed on the screens, I have tried changing the magnification but it didn't make a difference. Any help would be appreciated :

    Poll: Desktop Screen Size

This goes along with my Desktop Screen Res poll. A lot of people have been posting their monitor size in addition to voting in the poll, but I wanted to make an actual poll to put the screen size votes in a more easily readable format.

This is for desktop systems, not laptops. I've tried to include all screen sizes that people are likely to have; if yours is not listed, round up. If you have multiple, different-sized screens, check all that apply. I've also listed projectors as an option.

I didn't list individual sizes over 32" as these are typically not intended as PC monitors; just select "Larger."

Screen size is larger than monitor

    Hello,

Got a new monitor and the text is extremely small for me. ACER manufacturer recommends that settings for the size of text and apps be left at 100%, plus the Resolution at 1920 x 1080.

Since my eyesight is not that good, I opted to increase the size of text just to 125% and then asked to reboot computer. After the restart, the text had considerably gotten better, but the desktop icons got larger, half of the size of the icons were off the
screen on left-hand side. Lastly, the Start Menu button disappeared. Tried to get back the screen to normal, but still is larger than the monitor, also the Start Menu button disappeared. Checked for a magnifier on the screen and closed it.

(I know I can get settings through the action center, but can not get other tiles like photos, games, etc.)

Checked for drivers and they are all up-to-date.

    Again, these are the issues:

    1) Screen larger than monitor. Can not see anything on the left-hand side, having to snap each time to reduce their size has become a nuisance. Have tried different steps to reduce screen size to fit the monitor but it just is not working.

    2) Lost “Start Menu Button”, because screen is too large.

    3) Text is gone back to 100% and it's too small.

    4) Desktop icons on task bar are also extremely small.

    I would appreciate someone's help.

    Thank you.

    Ed

    Monitor screen size

I have a 4K laptop, with two 1080p monitors attached to it.

In the display settings, I have the laptop on the left, and the 2 monitors to the right. So basically I move the mouse from left to right to go from the laptop, to the first monitor, to the second monitor.

All good. Except the display settings show the laptop screen as twice the size of the monitors. This is true when based on resolution, but not on actual size (15" compared with 21" for the monitors).

So at the minute I have the monitor right in the middle vertically of the laptop screen on display properties. What this means is that I can only move the mouse from the laptop to the monitor where the display properties show the monitor is placed compared
to the laptop screen. So I cannot move the mouse when on the top or bottom section of the laptop screen, only in the middle section.

I can see that I can move the laptop screen in display properties, so the top half of the screen is covered by the monitor, but then the lower half will not allow the mouse to move to the monitor from the laptop.

Apart from lowering the laptop resolution to 1080p, which I'd rather not, then is there a way to make it automatically move to the highest/lowest point on the monitor, even if the mouse moves off the laptop screen higher/lower than where the monitor is placed
in display properties? Basically a method to basically fake the size of a screen just for this one bit of functionality. Ideally it would be great to be able to resize the screen in display properties to whatever you wish, so regardless of resolution you can
map perfectly with your actual screen size.
