Windows 10: Difference between English Germany and German Germany keyboards

Can I use English as language while having Germany as location to use Cortana?

Hey. Is it possible to have the location on Germany while having anything on English U.K.?

Cortana doesn't work with this .. so do I have to put location and any other language setting to the same like Germany/German and UK/English U.K.?

When I had it Germany/German Cortana worked for me.. but I want the language to be English. Isn't that working?

Can someone help me?

 

It seems that using the default language setting English (Germany) causes issues with Proofing tools

I have a customer who types in multiple languages, the main ones being English and German. He prefers to have his display language as English, and wants to use the German keyboard, so the simplest solution has been to use English (Germany), as this also allows him to keep other German formats such as Dates and times. The issue we have discovered, was that while using Word or Outlook, office was not automatically detecting the language when changing between English and German, whereas when I signed onto his device, it would detect the language automatically.

Months were spent trying to work on this issue, doing Side by Side comparisons, and even getting the user a new device (3 times), and there was still no fix. Eventually I discovered that setting his display language as English (United States) and Keyboard settings as German (Germany) fixed his issues, but he now has the United States settings and formatting. Does anyone know if there is simply a bug that doesnt allow the English (Germany) setting to detect the language changes, or if there is simply a way to get this to work?

New Computer bought in Germany ..... OS in German

Hello,

I have bought a new Computer bought in Germany - I live in Germany - that has Win 11 in German. Can one change the language or must one buy a new Win11? I have all my software in English.

My Old computer has WIn 10 I was wondering if in the worst case I could simply take my C: SSD from the old system and build it into my new system.

However, I think that may well bring problems since the Computer ID will change and so have licensing problems.

Any tips are most welcome
