Windows 10: Different display language and keyboard layout

Hello fellow members,I have English as my display language because I work as a software developer and most of my devices use English as the system language, though all my input layouts are German QWERTZ because I live in Germany.How do I remove this pesky English United States input layout effectively as I don't need it? Would upload an image but the upload functionality is brokenI've tried removing 409 from the registry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Keyboard Layout\Preload and HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Keyboard Layout\Preload but it's still there and always automatically selected on every reboot.Why can

This suggests to me that you are using the wrong "keyboard language" for your keyboard, and that therefore you first step would be to determine exactly what language keyboard you have. Possibly have a look at Windows Keyboard Layouts - Globalization | Microsoft Docs.

(The age of any laptop capable of running Windows 10 at all should not be a problem as regards keyboard layout)
