  1. Different error codes and failures when booting the Windows 11 system

Good afternoon These days I have had different types of errors when booting the system, the most common are: frozen screens, blue screens and file error codes. I tried looking for help online but it was not helpful, I did a factory reset and the problem stopped for two days, the errors started again and now I don't know what else to do. Tried to turn on the device But now not even an info screen is shown at startup. I need help please. The codes that have been presented to me on the screen are these: 0xc00000980xc00000010xc0000221

    :)

Ghost in the system - Error Code 55 etc.

    Hello there,

Long time listener, first time caller.

    My system was as follows:

    ASROCK p67 Extreme 4 Mobo
i7-2600K (running at 4,000mhz, so slight overclock from stock 3,400mhz)
    Cooler Master heatsink
2xGigabyte GTX 770 Windforce in SLI
    4x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600mhz
    Intel SSD boot drive
    Corsair SSD secondary drive
    WD HD for storage.
    Creative fatality sound card
    Corsair 850 PSU

I basically had this system since 2012, though upgraded graphics card and hard drive over the years. Was rock solid (though sometimes computer would reset during windows boot, but never thought much about it as it was rare).

About 2 weeks ago, started getting increasing BSODs in Windows 7. BSOD messages were varied, and occurred during random computer activities (internet, game, word processor). Then started getting just straight up hard locks - no BSOD or anything, just system crash. Then started getting trouble booting up with the Mobo show an error code 55 on the Debug panel on the Mobo itself. Error code 55 is an issue with the RAM according to the ASROCK mobo users manual. So tested each RAM stick individually using memtest86 and no issues were found. Tested the PSU with a Dr.Power device - all checked out.

BSODs and boot failure with Code 55 kept happening. Took off the overclock on the CPU back to stock speeds, same issues persisted.

Finally decided to take things apart and put them back together. When I removed the CPU, I noticed that there were some bent pins on the mobo socket and figured this must be the source of the problem (though hadn't been a problem for 2-3 years).

So got a new mobo, the ASROCK z77 Extreme 4. MOBO came yesterday, so I installed everything again. Boot the system - goes into error code 55!!! Put in only two RAM sticks at A2 and B2 slots (as suggested in the user manual), system boots fine and goes through some Prime 95. Put in all 4 ram sticks, system boots fine and goes through some Prime 95. Re-introduce overclock to 4,000mhz on the CPU, system boots fine and goes through some Prime 95. Temps are always more than OK. Go to sleep with a tentative (though confused) grasp on apparent success.

Boot system this morning - Error Code 55!!!! System won't boot.

So, we know it's not the Mobo. Is it the CPU or the RAM? I'd like to think it's the RAM because that's the cheaper fix, but I am wondering if the CPU is failing; perhaps the bent pins created a slow burn for it to eventually malfunction.

Any ideas to help me decide the next step here?

    Failures to boot, error 0x80070003

These problems began after my computer fell off my desk, so it is likely a hardware issue, however I would like to determine if this is indeed the case, and if so which components need to be replaced.

I've recently been having problems with my PC failing to boot. It freezes on the Windows 10 logo upon start up, before crashing to a black screen. Occasionally, windows will successfully enter system recovery, but fails to repair the problem. Attempting
system restore from restore point results in an "unspecified error, 0x80070003". I will occasionally (perhaps 1 in 20 times) be able to load fully into Windows with no issues- once logged in typically I experience no problems. It seems random when this happens
and I am unable to reproduce it regularly.

    Steps already taken:

    1. Windows system restore, failed with error 0x80070003
    2. Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool ran, no corruptions found
    3. System File Checker tool, no integrity violations found

Any advice or suggestions is much appreciated, thank you.

    UPDATE:

I checked the log file created by windows automatic repair upon failure with error 0x80070003: C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\Srt\SrtTrace

This file showed a number of successful tests, up to this:

    Code:
Test Performed: ---------------------------Name: System boot log diagnosisResult: Completed successfully. Error code = 0x0Time taken = 0 msRoot cause found: ---------------------------Boot critical file e:\boot\resources\custom\bootres.dll is corrupt.Repair action: File repairResult: Failed. Error code = 0x2Time taken = 1500 ms---------------------------
This seems likely to be the root cause. How should I go about repairing this file?

Different error codes and failures when booting the Windows 11 system

Computer Boot configuration error Code: 0xc0000185

    Hi Dave,

The error code 0xc0000185 could indicate that there is a failure on the hard drive, hard drive controller or any other hardware that is associated with it.

As a first troubleshooting step, we suggest that you check out this link
and follow Final Boss' answer to perform bootrec fix.

If the above suggestion did not work, the next best step that we can suggest is to contact your laptop manufacturer's support for further assistance regarding this issue, as this may indicate complete hardware failure.

    All the best.
